Where it Grows
Our Black Walnut stock is
sourced from the greater Ohio region. Timbers from this area
are consistently praised for
their high quality, desirable color and superior working
properties in higher-value
added manufacturing.
Our modern
manufacturing facilities are strategically located near our
timberlands,
interstate superhighways, rail networks and some of the
busiest seaports in the
world—all of which allow us to offer
our premium products at competitive prices.
Relative
Working & Physical Properties †
|
Walnut is a tough,
hard timber of medium density,
with moderate bending and crushing strengths and low stiffness.
It has a good steam bending classification and dimensional
stability. Walnut holds paint and stain very well and can be
polished to an exceptional finish.
Common Uses
†
Furniture, hardwood floors (especially when mixed with lighter
colored hardwoods), architecture, doors,
paneling, and joinery. |
