Where it Grows

Our Red Maple trees grow in professionally managed, environmentally sustainable forests in New York and Pennsylvania. These are widely considered prime growth regions for Red Maple as the wood tends to exhibit nice, bright colors.

Our modern manufacturing facilities are strategically

located near our prime Red Maple timberlands, interstate superhighways, rail networks
and some of the busiest seaports in the world—all of which allow us to offer premium
products at competitive prices (see Species Map).

Relative Working & Physical Properties

Red Maple, also known as Soft Maple, is, as its name suggests, about 25% less hard than Hard Maple. It has medium bending and crushing strength, and low shock resistance. Red Maple machines well and can be stained and polished to an outstanding finish. It glues, nails and screws satisfactorily. During drying it exhibits little degrade. Red Maple is often used as a substitute for
Hard Maple or stained to resemble Cherry.
